Miss Primdal's inheritance and dowry have vanished
It was meant to be the start of a happy season — an engagement, a summer by the sea, the promise of a new future. Yet shortly before the celebration the fortune disappeared under unclear circumstances, and rumours have since arisen that can no longer be ignored.
Clues have been left throughout the surroundings. The truth has not yet shown itself, but it can be uncovered — by guests of keen eye and keener mind.
The Bill of Fare
Guests are invited to arrive from eleven o’clock for high tea, with scones, finger sandwiches, and cakes.
As the afternoon unfolds, the party shall venture out into the surrounding landscape, where clues and curious tasks await discovery.
Later, light refreshments and sweet treats will be served, with time by the water for any who wish to linger awhile before the evening’s shared dinner.
And as the day gently draws to its close, all are invited to some quiet and cosy hours of games and conversation in good company.
Guests are warmly encouraged to bring games of their own — also lawn games.
Finery & Adornments
Regency-inspired attire is most welcome — dresses, empire waistlines, florals, pastel hues, ribbons, gloves, shirts, waistcoats, bonnets, pearls and other adornments.
Most important, though, is that what you wear is comfortable, suited to a walk — and leaves room enough to enjoy a generous portion of food.
A Note on the Journey
If you find yourself in want of a carriage, do ask among the other guests — many are travelling from afar and will gladly share the road.
Those who prefer to travel by rail may send word, and a pickup from the nearest station can be arranged — buses in these parts are sadly few.
